+SIM DROP problem
« on: March 30, 2015, 05:46:38 pm »
Hello all

I've been playing around with Fibocom G510 module. I managed to connect it to my LPC1225 microcontroller and I was able send and receive text messages  :-+ everything seemed to be ok.

Today, however I experienced something weird.
About 10 seconds after the startup, G510 loses connection to the network (I see if it is connected or not watching the status diode). When it happens all I can do is to restart the module because it is not able to restore the connection itself.

I connected it directly to my PC using ft232RL and I used putty to see what is going on. It turned out that the module sends +SIM DROP when it losses the connection.

What can be the reason of that behavior? I checked the connections and everything seems to be ok. Funny thing is that "+SIM DROP" message is not mentioned in Fibocom documents. I can't even find anything on google.
