Good books or tutorials for PCB design
« on: November 10, 2014, 12:01:44 pm »
Could anyone reccomend any good books or tutorials for people who are new to PCB design?

I have a very complicated through-hole design I would love to get on a PCB, but I don't feel that confident with just mucking about with diptrace till it works  :-/O

BTW, that tutorial had nothing to do with Altium. I did that 6 years before I ever worked there.

Sorry Dave....poorly worded.  :palm:

I studied it a year ago and thought it was a very sound resource.  :-+

After reading Dave's great PCB design tutorial, check out:

https://www.google.com/search?q=ti+pcb+design+guidelines+for+reduced+emi&oq=TI+pcb+design+&aqs=chrome.3.69i57j0l5.9220j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8

The first PDF link is pretty good. I haven't checked out the others yet.

Also,

http://www.analog.com/library/analogdialogue/archives/43-09/linear_circuit_design_handbook.html

Chapter 12 deals explicitly with PCBs.
It's perfectly acceptable to not know something in the short term. To continue to not know over the long term is just laziness.
