- 100's of other small electronic components
Next week I'm getting Andonstar AD407 Digital Microscope.
I'm currently taking the Crash Course Electronics and PCB Design on Udemy. I'm also doing a lot of reading online and watching youtube videos to help me to better understand everything. My game plan is in the next 5-8 years(after my kids grow up) to switch career fields from Computer Science into Electrical Engineering (even if that means taking a big pay cut).
Right now my biggest gripe is the power supply. It's a pain to set the voltage and being limited to 1 output.
My budget is around $500 for a better one. Most of the reviews I've seen on the forum are mostly for older equipment and I'm not sure what to get. Right now I'm thinking of getting one of the following power supplies:
- Instek GPE-4323
- Rigol DP832
- OWON ODP6033
- Siglent SPD3303X-E
Right now I'm not sure what all projects I will be doing but I have an interest in creating low power battery operated electronics. So I would like to have a power supply that is capable of working as an analyzer like the DP832. Does anyone know which one of these is the better one or is there something else thats better worth getting?

I'm very happy with my Rigol DP832, I understand the Siglent is pretty good as well.

Thanks, I'm leaning towards the Rigol DP832.

As you already have the scope you might wanna consider following the OP and his ventures like this:

I bought the OWON ODP6033 for $252 CDN just before Christmas from Arrow. It's been excellent so far.

Although I haven't observed it, there are reports of turn-on glitches on the DP832. It is worth investigating this and also check for issues with the Siglent. I haven' read any complaints about the Siglent so it might be a better choice than the Rigol.
Search the Test Equipment forum for both supplies.
As I said, I have the DP832 but I haven't seen the glitches. Luck? Newer design? Older design? Whatever, I haven't seen the issue.

If you are willing to spend "around" $500 you then have your choice of many different manufactures. BK comes to mind right away.
