power supply grounding

I bought a used old power supply - a Fontaine MC4020C.
when i opened it up some wires were loose inside (not conected to anything but no conductor touching the metal).i used an ohmeter to see if the case is gounded and it is.
Is it safe to use?i'll open it again an use some tape on the cables.

there is space for someaditional circuit,i guess for remote sensing

Assuming it works without them hooked up, just tape them off and tie them out of the way and it should be fine.

Proper way if wire is exposed and ok to remove it - cut cleanly then use glue/adhesive lined heatshrink and cover each end. Then cable tie it to another loom or back on itself so it doesn't interfere with the chassis or any hot components.
