Power supply wine when running led contoller
« on: May 19, 2016, 06:16:13 pm »
I bought this susay 100w 12v 8.5a power supply for my DIY LED light
It powers a TV420 contoller which outputs to the different led channels

Everything works except for this annoy whine outputted from the power supply

How can I fix this?!

Can you put a capacitor on the input V+ V- of the controller? Probably the PWM'ing is causing spikes on the supply rail.

I will try it.  Do you have a recommendation of what size to use?

How much current dose the led driver draws from the supply , because some supplies will make a high pitch wine when high current is drown due to the fact that it shift in frequency and the increased duty cycle which is some times in hearing rang.

I ended up finding a different supply but I'm still curious to test this to find out the cause. I'll put a meter on it later and see what is drawing
