Powering 6v leds
(1/1)
CharlesTT:
Hi, I have 6 6v leds that I want to run off of 12v what is the best way to do this ? I can't get a series + parallel circuit to work
Regards
Charles

Hi Charles,
You will have to provide a little bit more detail. A 6V LED does not exist. So, you have LEDs + something. Without knowing what that something is, it's hard to comment.

So the leds are surface mount on a small pcb, they take 6v to power them

Herhaps a picture might help? Part number?
LateLesley:
If they are 6V, then you'll have to run each one off the 12V with a current limiting resistor. Without knowing the current required by them, it's hard to help any further. Also a diagram of how you have tried hooking them up would be helpful too.
