| Pull-ups and GTL2000 level shifter |

I'm looking to build a FPGA<->PCMCIA interface using GTL2000 ( https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/GTL2000.pdf ) as a levelshifter inbetween. Now I'm trying to understand how to deal with the pull-up resistors on the high side (PCMCIA side using 5V). I have some fairly noobish questions here - I think I'm tripping myself up overthinking this... 1) Some pins in the PCMCIA socket are pulled up via 10k+ resistors by the card. I assume I won't need any external resistors on those lines as called for by the GTL2000 datasheet? 2) Am I correct in assuming that it is ok to use 10k+ pull-up resistors even though the GTL2000 datasheet points towards much smaller resistors? I guess I don't understand if the datasheets specifies a lower pull-up limit or not. 3) PCMCIA standards calls for the address lines to be pulled to GND via 100k+ resistors inside the card. Should I put large (100k or so) external pull-ups on those lines or should I go for small (1k or so) resistors on those? I would assume I should put small pull-ups on these lines... |
