Looking at the back of this board, is what I marked as "A" part of the ground plane and is the part where B-----------> points to, part of the same plane? Thanks |

It certainly looks like one plane. You can do a continuity check with a DMM. I have no idea why there is a slot but it probably serves as some kind of fault limit scheme. |

The symmetric top section will be the same. This can help with decoupling - and I'll bet the solder joints you can see near the neck of each is for a capacitor to do just that. |
