Question about my circuit board
« on: December 15, 2018, 06:02:35 pm »
Looking at the back of this board, is what I marked as "A" part of the ground plane and is the part where B-----------> points to, part of the same plane?
Thanks

It certainly looks like one plane.  You can do a continuity check with a DMM.
I have no idea why there is a slot but it probably serves as some kind of fault limit scheme.

I have no idea why there is a slot but it probably serves as some kind of fault limit scheme.

The slot will force all current flowing through that arm to pass through a single point.  The symmetric top section will be the same.  This can help with decoupling - and I'll bet the solder joints you can see near the neck of each is for a capacitor to do just that.
