SMD capacitor markings
« on: April 25, 2022, 03:52:51 pm »
Looking for help identifying the electrolytics in the image.  The larger one appears to be 100uF/6V, right?  And the other is 47uF?  I'm not sure about the voltage on the smaller one.

The "6A" on the smaller one indicates 6 volts?

Probably not.

It's more likely that it's just an identification code, just like the "3A" on the larger capacitor.
If you then have the documentation from the manufacturer of your capacitors, it has a look up table so you can see what the specifications of the capacitor are.

There doesn't appear to be a manufacturer printed on the cap.  The device was made in Japan (about 26 years ago), but I looked at the datasheet for Nichicon caps and it doesn't seem to identify these markings.

The service manual for the device has a schematic, but...1) the larger cap is 47uF in the schematic and 2) the smaller cap is listed as 6V but also shows a test voltage of 6.3V at the positive terminal.
