Question for all trackball switch aficionados
« on: February 11, 2021, 01:54:07 pm »
The first comment of this blog reports that the logitech M570 uses  Alps SKHHAJA010. In mine, however, I found the switch in the picture. I never seen a similar red/white top switch.
Do you know what switch it is? It reports tk24 on the bottom.

If you check the datasheet http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1685516.pdf
you'll see that the colour of the actuator indicates the operating force. Black = 0.98N, red = 2.55N

Thank you.
Are you sure the switch is an alps one? the SKHHAJA010 has a clear alps logo on the bottom, the one I removed from the trackball doesn't.
The SKHHAJA010 has a metallic top, the one from the trackball is white (probably plastic?)

I suspect Logi[tech] decided to save some pennies by switching (heh) to a cheaper part and then passing on the savings to their customers shareholders.
