Raspberry Pi and a HDMI display
« on: January 24, 2019, 12:38:00 am »
I have a Raspberry Pi and a HDMI display on the same device that both need to have a power supply. The Raspberry Pi seems to ask for 5 Volts, the HDMI display is asking for 2 Volts, and my battery is 3.2 Volts. What is the best solution to this? Is there a voltage converter that will have a dual voltage output, or will one of these 2 devices be flexible
on the voltage?

Hi ascsunday,

The answer to your question is yes, you can get cheap, small, switch mode power supplies to convert 3V2 to 5V and 2V.

But,I suspect that the HDMI display would need a 3V3 supply rather than 2V.

In order to succeed in this project it would be wise to tell us a bit more about your units:

What battery?

What model is the HDMI display?

Which model Raspberry Pi?

What current? You will need 2 ICs.
