Record a bench grinder

Where did you get the new cord from? The wires should be colour coded. Are there different colours, under the outer sheath? The middle appears to be green, which should go to the grinder's frame. Check it's connected to the ground pin of the mains plug, using the continuity tester on a multimeter.
You really should use the correct crimps and crimping tool to connect the wires to the grinder.

Then report the topic and explain the problem and we (moderators) will do our best to solve it. There is not a lot else you can do but start an argument.
