LCD issue only on cold start
« on: November 01, 2024, 12:34:38 pm »
I have an used IPS panel that have red tint on border when cold start, and goes away in less than 10 minutes.
I cannot have a good shot by camera, so I made an exaggerated demo picture as attached.
Seeing in person, it's mostly noticeable on white background.
What could cause this?

Low VGL, presumably IPS is installed instead of TFT.

Panel finished.
Yours look like backlight bleeding, which is different from mine.

It's a laptop panel with integrated driver, sorry I didn't make it clear.
It's more likely to be age related. I'm just want to know the exact cause.

I say again (second time) - check the voltages. Find your panel and check the correct voltages yourself. The Vcom line consumes a lot of current, check it first. (display in the photo is brand new IPS with incorrect voltages)

And yes, after 10 minutes the edges become lighter, with the correct voltage the edges become light immediately.
