| RF inductor using gyrator |
| (1/1) |
| promach:
I am trying to reproduce an active inductor as in https://github.com/promach/frequency_trap/tree/development However , according to this spreadsheet calculation , I could not get a working inductor and S11 simulation result does not match gyrator expression computation result. I have also tried ROUT maximization, but it does not help. Could you point out what possibly went wrong ? |

This is what I learnt years ago, & as such devices are still not commonly used at RF, would still seem to be correct. Gyrators, by and large, are not useful in RF circuitry, as at higher frequencies, stray capacitance & inductance become large enough to affect the circuit performance. Real LC circuitry can be designed which minimises such effects, or even incorporates them. Possibly, if Gyrators are built as an integral part of specialised ICs, it may be possible to overcome these pproblems. |
