Rf/ham radio- variable caps in the uk??

Where do you get variable caps (i have only found some trimmer not caps for the front panel) in the Uk or Europe?

to be honest.. i haven't seen such a thing for a looong time.. trimmer capacitors are common, but tuning variable capacitors not really (even if someone still manufacture them, those must be freaking expensive).

Maybe you can reclaim them from old radios?

Try searching for "Jackson variable capacitor". The last time I looked (hmm, may be a decade ago!) the original company were still in business. I've no idea who or where they would be stocked now-a-days. You might get lucky and find some NOS.

There are some companies in Germany which offers variable caps.
