Hakko 808 owners - which parts need replacement most?

Hi - I am interested to know from long time 808 owners which parts should I keep on hand to keep my 808 operational? I am not referring to the obvious parts like the filters, but maybe components of the pump mechanism, etc. I know Hakko still sells some replacement parts but I don't know which, and how many of them, to buy on hand.

It concerns me that it's already discontinued as a model, so I want to keep parts on hand.

When I started working for my current employer they already owned two Hakko 808 but I don't know the history of them. Over approximately 3 years of daily use the motors died in both, and one heating element stopped working. In both cases the motor suddenly couldn't create vacuum pressure with any load, and I believe one of the wires broke off the heating element.

We had a difficult time locating replacement parts in Australia so opted to buy a FR-300 to replace them since we needed a solution ASAP. I'd be interested to see if you are able to locate parts because we still have the two 808 sitting in a box

Well, maybe by now it's been so long, they don't.

I have go to check.

Pretty much the whole unit can be re-built its just a matter of finding a source of the parts

Hakko has the same parts listings but the problem is that many of them are not actually available (backordered, possibly indefinitely).
