Title: Samsung Plasma PN64H5000 blowing fuses
Post by: CEV on July 26, 2019, 09:54:16 pm
My Samsung Plasma PN64H5000 blew a fuse. The one right next to where the power cable plugs into. I originally thought the BN44-00690A Power Supply Board was bad, so searched where I could buy a new one. ShopJimmy show they sell them for $85, but do not have any in stock. Couldn't find anywhere else either.

So did some research and found out how to test a ceramic fuse. I know seems pretty simple, but I did not know. Tested bad, so ordered some. Finally got it desoldered and a new one put in, and that one blew as well.

I am now at a loss. I do have a multimeter, but had to watch a Youtube video on how to use it to test a fuse. Looking for suggestions on what to do next. I did find a couple of places online where you can ship them your power supply board, they will fix it for about $65, and then ship it back to you. But not sure if any of these places are trustworthy. If someone has a suggestion on what I could try next, or even know of a reputable place to send the board for repair at a decent price, I would appreciate it. That's assuming it's the powerboard that is bad, if I am correct.

Thanks,
Chad
