hi members , I am looking for a connector that is on a Sega Saturn PSU.  I need to buy about 10 units , I've tried looking on Digikey/RS Australia/Element14 without luck.  I believe they carry them only my search isn't accurate enough.

So I've taken some photos (see links) and hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction.

Quite simply pins from the Saturn's motherboard go through the connector when the PSU is lined up and pushed down.

What led to the burnt pin on that connector?

It's a normal JST connector intended for power usage.
You will find it's a separate pin and housing configuration
It looks like a JST VHR combined with a JST SVH-21T or something like that.

hi taste_tester ,  quite simply i followed a guide about 10 years ago where to get 5 volts from for a Sega Saturn modchip.  I recently got a blue transparent shell and realized how messy and unprofessional it is.  So i am looking to replace all of the connectors in my Saturns (about 10)

i had a good look around Digikey/Element14.....etc with your suggestions and it is a step closer to what i need , but not exactly.  I have desoldered the connector and taken 2 more photos (links below).  Btw there is a replacement PSU for Saturns that are available to buy , my point is they use the same connector so they must be a off the shelf part.

Nope. VH is a wire-to-board, and JST doesn’t make a board-to-board in 3.96mm pitch.

Molex KK 396, bottom-entry header. Probably 0009484059 (tin) or 0009483054 (gold) or a clone thereof.

hi guys I'm back ,  yesterday I received a parcel from digikey and eagerly opened it up.  I lined up the Molex connectors with the original Saturn one and its pretty much spot on.  So I soldered it in which was easy and then married the PSU with the MB.

It went through really nicely , i'm pretty stoked with the outcome.  I would like to say thank you to taste_tester for getting the ball rolling and the importance of my issue , also tooki who nailed the perfect part which was not easy

thanks guys , what was quite a problem is now solved......

Glad it worked out for you! It’s nice you can keep that piece of somewhat rare-ish hardware running.
