After a lot of research I end up in these 2 function generators.
I found UTG2025a in a local shop for 230€(in internet cost around 400€ so I thought is good oportunity) and I was ready to buy it, but UTG962 shown up and complete blow my mind with what offers and the price(130€)
I try to figure out if UTG2025a is better than UTG962 or not. I search for differences, and the only thing that UTG2025a is better than UTG962 is temperature coeficient, at all the other cases UTG962 wins I think.
I can't understand how a 130€ function generator could be better than a 400€ function generator, of the same company(UNI-T).
I thing that I missing something, its to good to be true.
Can you help me with this choice?

I also found PSG908 around (180€) which seems good offer, but is from china without datasheet, and I afraid to go with it.

Is my first function generator, so I want to make a good choice.
Thanks in advance.

Hello.

It depends, I would go for the UTG2025A or equivalent from Rigol/Siglent if you need accuracy and repetability in your tests, even after a long period of time. The drift of the UTG962 over time is two orders of magnitude greater. The UTG2025A also has 8kpts for arbitrary waveforms, the UTG962 has only 4kpts.

Think of the UTG962 as low entry level, good enough for beginners. The UTG2025A is entry level for professional lab use.

For my beginner lab, I went with the UTG962, instead of other options like FY6900.

For EU I think you should look for UTG962E. There are Ali offers for €104 + free economy shipping to EU.
Where did you find the €130 EU offer? Seems like a rip-off charging €26 just for the warranty of a €104 appliance but well, at least one more option to consider.

The 962 looks like a fun little box.
The 2025 is such a long box which needs a lot of depth on your desk.

The 962 does not even have a built-in power supply, but a 5V plug at the side, and seems to be more built for occasional use. It may lack in frequency and long term stability. If you're into the ppm stuff, this is not your Function generator. Placement of the BNC's on the side is quite strange, butt it also keeps the front panel clean, especially if you want to make a stack of stuff.

Other things to consider is maximum output voltage and current, and if the output voltage is limited with an applied offset.

The sort of function generator you need is very dependent on the job you want to use it for, and also how tight your budget is. I bought a JDS6600 myself for around EUR70. I bought the cheapest (lowest frequency) version, as it is already much more than I need. I do like the bigger display of the UNI-T though. User Interface may also be better.

It kinda blows my mind that these questions never say what your intended usage is.    Usage has a massive impact on the usefulness of any tool.    Consider the difference between an auto mechanic and a heavy equipment mechanic, one could easily make use of a 3/4" socket set while the other would have it collecting dust.   The world of electronics isn't much different.

Since there is a big divide between what a professional would need and what a hobbyist would want that is the first thing to define.    A hobbyist is much more likely to be able to get by with cheap.

As for the cost deltas you are seeing have you opened up the box of any electronic instrument lately?    There isn't much there.     Often the device is a collection of off the shelf parts.   A $200 dollar device might have a BOM cost of $20.    Note that BOM costs are not the entire cost of a devices travel to market, the point is that the actual box costs little.
