I have a Rigol DS1052E, but I wouldn't buy one today. It's basically old and out-dated. I think the DS1054Z has one of the ugliest front panel designs of any test equipment I've seen, but you can't deny its cost vs. performance value.

I would want any scope I purchased from today to have a gradient display. I wouldn't buy anything made by Siglent unless the seller was willing to open the case to confirm and guarantee that the Siglent problem of factory installed rust was not present.

factory installed rust.

Does this really matter? I don't think this affect the performance anyhow. As I remember Dave's teardown there were much more serious problems. And, again, price must be considered.
