Hi Folks, My name is Warren I was a bench and metrology tech most of my life, retired now. I have done very little SMD work as most of the gear I worked on was Military and/or Aviation where we had to use OEM parts so my SMD experience is limited. Anyway my TDS2024 scope decided to turn its toes up. I have identified 3 faulty components 1 cap and 2 transistors. I have IDed the transistors but the cap is eluding me. The ID id J685L (I make out the 685 is 6.8uF) and polar so either Tantalum or Electro. |

See if you can figure out what it is connected to. Then see what the datasheet says that component needs. |
| radiolistener:
tantalum smd capacitors usually has yellow color. |
| Nerull:
Plenty of tantalums are black. |
| gamalot:
They are 6.8uF/6.3V tantalum capacitors. |
