how to learn electronics?

I am 18 years old and I am totaly new to this forum but I love watching the EEVBlog videos. I love to tinker with things and take them apart. but sadly i don't know much about electronics design or anything. I know like the very basics like how to build a simple AC to DC power supply with a linear transformer but thats about it. i want to learn more but i don't know where to start.
Do you know of any books or something that I could read to learn a bit more or links online that I could visit and maybe pick up a few things?

Checkout learn.adafruit.com. They have lots of great electronic projects with very detailed tutorials.

One of the resources I really like is
www.electronics-tutorials.ws/
. It covers fair amount of theory nicely divided into a few page tutorials. If you want a book, Art of Electronics by Horowitz and Hill is a really great reference to have.
Also watch the EEVBlog, read the forum, and you'll learn really fast.

Art of Electronics 2nd edition.
There are some low cost versions on ebay, the paperback red cover ones.
The 3rd edition will be out soon by what I have seen on this forum, but don't wait for it, get it when you can in addition to the 2nd edition.
