Test Equipment Manuals-Just A Rant!

Just a rant! 
I'm not a complete novice when it comes to electronic theory or building projects, but I am new to some test equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators) and I cannot figure out why Chinese manufactures of test gear do not hire someone to write their manuals that actually know English! Trying to understand the convoluted language in their manuals is driving me crazy! You would think that at least the distributors and retailers would make an effort to try to convince the Chinese to improve their manuals or, if nothing else, supply their own manuals with the equipment.

Can anyone out there suggest a couple of good books for learning how to use electronic test equipment?

Manuals typically show equipment set ups and not much more. When it comes to Chinese manuals, if you could prove that it increases sales they would all have excellent ones. Uni-t manuals are normally good examples of what is possible.
