Title: Sony CXA1145 only outputting black and white composite?
Post by: AmmoJammo on February 07, 2015, 10:49:59 am
So, I've been modifying a Sega Master System II today.

Adding a composite and audio rca sockets, as well as an svideo socket, and 9 pin RGB socket.

RGB looked good...

svideo was decent, buy a little more blurry...

composite was kinda over exposed, too much brightness or something.... and then, it turned black and white...

 :palm:

Did I break the 1145 IC?
I may have at one point had all three outputs connected to the one TV, but as they're separate outputs, I assume nothing could have been overloaded?

Modified: (edit: the sync pin is actually connected via the same 75r/220u circuit as everything else, its not directly connected like the diagram shows)

All unlabelled resistors are 75ohm, capacitors are 220u.

The 1145 is technically meant to have an amplifier on one of the svideo outputs... is it possible I broke that by overloading the chip?

Any help would be excellent! (going to go test svideo and rgb again)

I can confirm, svideo and rgb are still in colour.

I'd tested the composite video mod before I did anything else, and it worked fine, but now I've done the other mods...  :--
