SOT-23-8 for Eagle

Hey everyone,

I'm using Eagle to make a PCB and I have an ADC in a SOT-23-8 package. I can't find anything with the included eagle librarys, and I can't find anything from searching on Google. Can someone point me to a library with a SOT-23-8 device so I can use it in my circuit?

You might as well make the footprint yourself. Sooner or later you need to make another one and it doesn't take very long if you already know how to do it.

maxim.lbr (Device MAX4337.DEV / SOT23-8L.PAC)

Result was in German tho.

Ideally I would like to be able to do this but I haven't been able to find a good tutorial on how to do it.

Quick google search revealed the following:

maxim.lbr (Device MAX4337.DEV / SOT23-8L.PAC)

Result was in German tho.

I found that German result as well, but there was no download link so far as I could see.

Creating parts is actually pretty simple once you have the process down - way faster than searching for a footprint.

One hint:  Be sure to use whatever units (imperial or metric) the part was designed in when creating footprints.  Rounding errors add up fast!  The attachment shows pads that should be on the same pitch; notice how quickly the error adds up when using converted measurements.

It is really easy to make footprints in Eagle once you find out what all the different layers are for.
You will want to make your own anyway, many of the supplied footprints don't even pass the DRC because of solder mask overlapping pads etc.
Good enough is the enemy of the best.

I'll check that out in the future, I am likely to need this again :)
