Speed controller issues

Hi All

I sure one of you guys can figure this out.

I have a motor I want go clockwise for 10 seconds stop for 3 seconds and go counterclockwise for 10 secs and repeat several times. I got that to work fine with forward reverse motor controller.

Problem is the motor is 3000rpm I want to be able to lower and control speed.

The speed control also works fine independent from the motor controller (Only test in one direction)

When I wire in the Speed controller with the motor controller it only works in forward direction
it will spin forward 10s stop 3s next ten secs will pulse the motor but will not spin then it will again go forward for 10s

I just figured what may be a solution.. If I use a power supply that I can regulate voltage  I can make it work as I need...

Will this cause a problem ?
