Tek 465B Volts/div mechanical issue
« on: December 26, 2024, 04:35:31 pm »
Hi folks,

I’m posting this in the beginner section as I’m an (old) beginner when it comes to scope repair… but I imagine it is a nontrivial problem.  The Channel 2 Volts/div on my Tektronix 465B is stuck solid.  The var spins freely but the main shaft is stuck.  Peering inside, it seems that the grey plastic barrel around the shaft is fractured on the seam.  It could be an easy fix if it weren’t for the access. How does one remove and repair the volts/div mechanical internals on a 465B?  Thanks in advance!

-Moose

Do you have the service manual?

If not, here is a link to it on the BAMA site:

Zenwizard Studios on YouTube has a very good video on the disassembly of a 465B that helped me fix my 465B. Might be worth a look, just skip to the part you need. Good Luck!
