TGP110 pulse generator. What would I use it for?
« on: April 24, 2016, 06:44:40 pm »
I am being spammed by adverts after having looked at this unit at distrelec. I can maybe see a use in a physics lab but has it a use in everyday electronics? Maybe measuring the core saturation point of power inductors that requires a pulse train? What else does? I also understand that the case is mostly empty which shows good ergonomic design. A well laid out panel is a massive plus.

Good design and a nice case is not enough even if I do have an equipment buying obsession.

For my limited electronics purposes, I can get along without it.  It would be a nice clock source for some kind of logic project but since I do those with a CPLD or FPGA, I can easily synthesize a pulse generator internally.  I kind of expect they just use a CPLD as the basis for the project.  At most it would take a really small FPGA.

I couldn't see a price at the USA site and I don't get involved with things that require a quotation.  All that means is that I will get the price du jour.  Everybody on the planet will get a better price than me.
