| TL866 programmer in need of maintenance |
| (1/1) |
| Mp3:
Hello all. I have an old TL866CS EPROM programmer. It gets a lot of use. At this point it will not recognize a chip unless i press down on it with lots of force and lock it in place. Even then i sometimes need to get it in just the right place. It seems to me the socket is either becoming loose or very dirty. How would anyone recommend fixing this issue? I dont know how these sockets work mechanically, so i'm not sure where to start with trying to fix it. I have a shelf spare TL866 in case this one dies but i would like to run it for as long as possible before replacing it. I have already repaired the usb port on it and hope to not give up on it quite yet. |

You checked to see if there are any broken solder joints on the ZIF socket or the daughterboard the ZIF socket is mounted on? |
