| Tooth paste thermal paste corrosion |

I have about 50mL of thermal paste for CPU's, in a needle, but I can't find. So on a 2n3055 I used toothpaste, between the heatsink, and insulator. It never shorted. There are 2 dark brown rings around the outside, of the insulated circles, where the base and emitter pins emerge. Something has chemically reacted. |

Probably water in the toothpaste. Zinc oxide creams would probably be a better household substitute, of the type uses on babies bottoms. Eg Sudocrem https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudocrem |

Did your "toothpaste" taste funny this morning? |
