TP cable interference test

Hi!

I have a TP cable for CAN, I want to test how sensitive it is to interference.

Someone said you can use a relay that shuts on and off, I guess the inductor in the relay would generate noise for interference.

Can I do this by putting a square wave through a inductor, or something more simple?

What is the best way to test if a cable is good enough, not too sensitive for interference ?

What they most likely meant was to wire the relay so the power to the coil goes through one of the normally connected contacts.
So as soon as it turns on it cuts its own power.

It will buzz like crazy and the arcing will produce some noise, however the frequency spread and amount of noise it procures will vary wildly. It's by no means a scientific test :P

What is the best way to test if a cable is good enough, not too sensitive for interference ?

I'm sure there's super expensive test equipment for this, but 'try and see' is probably the easiest approach.
