Transformer question

Nusa:
Actually, the first question with a resistive load is whether you need a rectifier at all. Often the answer is that the load is perfectly happy with AC, but will work on DC if you insist. Soldering irons, for example.

Arrogant twat.  Doesn't care about anybody or anything outside of themselves.  If I was his manager, he'd be pulled up rather sharply for (a) producing sub-standard work and (b) sticking it to the customer.  If he was really good at design and crap on documentation, I'd look at ways of addressing the quality of documentation - but if he was so-so on design as well, I'd be putting him in a seat near the door.

It's unfortunate, but becoming more prevalent that challenging sub-standard work gets an aggressive response - as if that's supposed to make the sub-standard work "acceptable".  People that try that with me may have the last word in the opening shouting match, but they will never win.

Yes, documentation is a biatch, but when I do it, I want to make it a good effort so I don't have to come back and work on it any more, if possible.

Sorry that my question fired up so much  :box: ... That was not my intention.

Anyway, thanks for the useful answers
Brumby:
No need to apologise .

This is the sort of thing that happens all the time.  Don't let that put you off asking questions.
