Trimming a LT1019_2.5v Voltage Reference
(1/1)
t1d:
I would like to build the Dual Supply Dynamic Electronic load, that Jay_Diddy_B is developing. I want to use the VAC Supply Option. I have a LT1019_2.5v, in my stocks.
- Do I need to trim the LT1019, at all, for the needed accuracy, for this circuit?
   - If not, how do I need to terminate the pin?
   - If so, could someone help me with the math, to do a three resistor trim, like the one shown for the 5.120v model, on page 9, top-left corner. Please. How important is it that the resistors are 1% Low TC Cermet?
The LT6656 option is above $6. But, it may be easier to deal with?
What about just a good old zener diode?
I do not want to use the temp pin, for anything. Just terminate it to an unconnected pad?

The device will be mounted in a big honking, Realistic, defunked (get it? <grin>), 100amp, stereo chassis. It uses one of the huge heat sinks and an 120vac computer case fan, for cooling.

Thank you, for your help.

No. There's no point to have absolutely precise voltage reference in your device that needs current to be calibrated.
