UA741 as oscillator [HELP]
« on: April 22, 2015, 10:33:19 pm »
Hello eevblog!
lets jump to problem I am having
circuit ->

- so this circuit is supposed to give square signal on its output, but its not cause the 4th pin isn't on negative voltage, so how do I get it to negative when I only have 5V input and GND. Consider that I need  minimum 5V to operate with that ua741.

Please help me out here, and yea go easy on me.

You can't . You will need a negative supply if you want the output  to go negative.

5V is barely enough wake up a 741. I believe it needs about 1.5V "headroom" from each supply rail before it starts working. Try a more modern device - preferably one that claims to be "rail to rail".
