Unable to set channels to analyze UART in PulseView
« on: April 14, 2019, 08:06:12 pm »
I'm trying to analyze data coming from my Rigol DS1054Z using pulseview but unable to assign any channels to the decoder.

After I capture data from the scope it is being displayed on a screen as expected. Then i'm adding UART decoder that displays "no channels assigned"

when i try to assign channels manually I cannot select any from the drop-down list. what am i doing wrong here? :-//

Screenshot attached.

I found an answer(Thanks to L29Ah from #sigrok IRQ channel). I needed to digitize the channel first (Channel->conversion), once this was done I was able to connect it to the decoder.
However it seems like I can onle decode very short messages because the sample rate is mot high enough. Is this a hardware limitation of my scope(1GSa/s)? or is it because it is connected to PulseView via Ethernet?

Why not do the UART decoding on the Rigol DS1054Z itself?
