Title: USB Type-C - PCB layout
Post by: Tantalum on May 03, 2019, 04:25:59 pm
Hello

I'm designing a PCB of an USB device, and I'm realizing that this USB-C is really a mess.

Is there somewhere a kiCAD PCB layout I would only need to copy from?
It should include:
- SMD USB-C connector (no through hole)
- USB 3 + 2 Mux,
- CC Controller,
- ESD Protection

Thank you

At least a few years ago when I was playing in this space while the pinout for the connector pins was fairly standard, there wasn't any standards for the actual connectors, you'll likely need to make your own footprint.
