Standard programming templtes c 4 embedded

Hi...
Recently i have started working in embedded systems programming (tiva) in C....i am unfamilar with standards method to be followed in writing codes for embedded system...while i used to work with vhdl for fpga i used to refer to standard templates / snippets for development which inherently helped in avoiding latches...similarly are there standard templates 4 embedded c which i can refer to so that i could avoid pitfalls of a beginner....and develop efficient and bugfree codes...
