Voltage rating of SMD tantalum cap
« on: February 10, 2021, 09:55:28 am »
I need 1uf rated cap in one project and found this from this old pcb. But i am slightly unsure what is this Voltage rating or week code plus old letter voltage rating from the past. The symbol at the end confuses.

I tried to search but i can't find.  :scared:

Thank you in advance for your knowledge and time.

They are 25V and 35V. But I won't salvage tantalums for a new circuit - you'll never know which abuse they have taken so far and when they eventually might blow up...
A rule of thumb is to operate them at half of the rated voltage and avoid high current transients. If you could tell if the used caps were treated well, you might still be fine to use them...

Cheers
