Funny thing here is Samsung is giving a warranty for the first year of they will replace or repair the phone at no cost, irrespective of the reason. Water damage, broken screen or whatever. You get ONE free repair/replacement. Only on the top of the range, but as these are the largest they are confident they will not lose money on this.
But me I have dropped phones before, and as I normally now use a screen guard, and a case they do not get damaged. Scratched, scuffed and with the case sides worn and lettering missing yes, but broken only after a few years. I have had to go through a few batteries with each phone, as they all die after time. I think I bought the last Nokia 8110 battery in the country when I got it, and the phone was not broken but was still not mine a year later.
