QianLi

Professional grade stuff. NorthridgeFix uses it, and he even sells it. Be careful though, tips are really tiny. 115 size. If you want larger tips, get something else.

All of these have cords though, I just assume you mean no wall power requirement.

Yeah. It's got a display and buttons and a MCU and...
Nerds love it.
But for practical use, nothing beats propane. Up to an hour runtime and simple refilling with lighter gas in seconds. No USB charger or something like that needed.
True portability.

Important for some, I guess. OP didn't say, but this is the Beginners board.

I don't do an hour of soldering in a year. On the average day I need it it's probably for ten seconds.

I've been using the Weller Pyropens for many years and if expense is no concern then these are still my first choice for field work. I have found them extremely effective in tinning larger gauge wires and where larger solder pads or connectors require additional heat, they are also brilliant for working with heatshrink.

They are however prone to a few inherent problems such as ignition failure and if left unused for long periods they can gum up which blocks the butane flow altogether, both of these issues can be easily addressed in the field with a gas lighter in no time and little risk. The diameter at the base of these pens also fits nicely in a spool of solder which can act as a stand.

Yes. It is comfortable to use. Try to purchase from a dependable seller.

I started out with the Pyropen, but was very disappointed. Bad temperature regulation and wonky ignition.
The Portasol just works.
