I bet it takes more than 2.6667 times longer to change out the 3 jerry-rigged CR2 batteries.
Or would you make an external charger to recharge it?
Yeah... It was my initial misunderstanding of the total capacity for the 3 x CR2's.
And it was also my lack of knowledge on battery types in the 9V format.
Those aren't rechargeable, are they?
Nope, they're not.
Why are we talking about a power hungry portable multimeter? Multimeters have not used Nixie tubes for many years.
My Fluke multimeter uses one Energizer 9V alkaline battery every 5 years because I do not leave it turned on all day every day, I use it only when I need it. I would never use a cheap Chinese battery in it and it does not need a rechargeable battery.
I would use an expensive LA522 Lithium 9V battery only for something that draws a high current and is turned on all the time. No I wouldn't, instead I would use a wall adapter power supply with it.
Well... Nixie tubes or OLED displays, same thing.

Wall adapter power supply is something I've considered (maybe still considering?), but then that would be yet another cable to fiddle around with on what is my already very crowded workbench, computer desk, storage area, etc.
I need a bigger place...
