Graphing calculator.... sort of?
« on: November 10, 2017, 07:03:50 am »
Hello folks,

I'm curious if anybody would be able to point me in the right direction on this. If any of you are familiar with the Mandelbrot Sets, I basically want to build a little(or big if need be) box that will output them onto a screen and allow for zoom in/out control. The screen doesn't have to be built into it, but I don't know if having it set up to output to a TV/Monitor would be any easier to handle.

I know this is likely well beyond my skill level at the moment, but I like to fail at stuff to keep me humble  :-+

Any wisdom you guys could impart on me would be greatly appreciated.

That's more simple than I was expecting... And painfully obvious now that you said it.  :palm:

I sometimes forget computers are tiny now  :-DD

Thanks

Bit more ambitious but the result should be better (i.e. fast boot, no OS needed)

I also vote for using a SBC like a Pi.  There are few MCUs with FPUs and integrated graphics, and the cost in development tools and time would be grossly excessive for a one-off project.  Of the possible SBCs to use, a Pi the the most hobbyist-accessible.
