what is the use for 2 cathodes in an triode?
ELS122:
what would someone use 2 cathodes for?
I found this 6Г7 tube that has 2 cathodes and don't see it useful.
schmitt trigger:
It would be very interesting if you post the tube schematic.
Perhaps as a mixer?
ELS122:
datasheet : https://www.gstube.com/data/430/
shematic where I found it : https://www.gstube.com/schemes/pics/Ra/Belarus.GIF
also I don't really want to know how is it used in the shematic but what can it be used for
ArthurDent:
That is a multipurpose tube with one cathode, 2 anodes, plus a triode. Tubes like this were used the diodes for the detector and automatic volume control (AVC) and the triode for the 1st audio amp in a receiver. Here is a similar tube. https://frank.pocnet.net/sheets/093/6/6SQ7.pdf
ELS122:
wait so it's basically a diode connected to the grid of the triode?
I don't understand this at all.

also it says in that shematic that 1 of the cathodes go to the signal diode and plate to the output
how is it?.. what??? :-//
