What is this 2 lead part?
« on: May 30, 2020, 01:41:31 am »
While cleaning up my lab bench, I ran across these components 998354-0.

They are small, black, teardrop shaped, without any labeling.

Thoughts?

They look like bead thermistors. You can measure their resistance and see if it changes a lot with temperature.

Yeah, my bet is on generic 10 kOhm NTCs. Check your eBay/AliExpress/whatever purchase history ... works great for mystery parts.  ;D

That makes sense, a few years ago there was a project using that here. I'll test when back at the bench.

Thanks

Connect an ohmmeter, then squeeze hard between your thumb and forefinger.

once I had the "thermistor" keyword to search by it narrowed it down.

Amazon ORDER PLACED - November 7, 2012 (sigh, need to organize more often)
