What Name of This Mini LCD?
« on: October 14, 2015, 05:46:15 am »
i try to find this in ebay but "mini lcd" didnt turn up anything like it.. you can find this screen used in vape watt adjustable mod such as ipv d2 or subox. the size is small around 21mm x 7mm. i roughly counted  the dot matrix its around 80x20 pixels. the matrix count is not that important as long as its somewhere close esp the small size of the screen. whats the name of this or where i can get it? thanks.

if you application is low power , and has long stand by time with display all time on, then
Be aware , OLED cnsume way more current than a LCD , like few mA(~10mA or less maybe ) , depending on screen brightness. LCD without backlit may have few hundred micro Amps.

you can switch of LCD backlit to save power during sleep or stand by you can still se LCD with environment light , but if you put OLED standby you will see nothing , all you can do is decrease   brightness to save some power

thats how they do it i guess. anything display+low power is a no no, so simply they shut down everything even the mcu goes to sleep mode except interrupts... all day lcd/oled ON usually indicates abundant power source, not low power critical application...
