I want to buy a DP 30V 5A programmable power supply module (http://ebay.com/itm/331908198282) to build my own bench power supply. I don't know what input power supply would be OK for this module. The description says, that the input voltage range should be 6.00-40.00V. My question is: what current I need from the input power supply?
I have here a printer power supply with 30V, but the output current is only 1.1A. Is this enough? The current will be stepped up by the module?

A 36V switching power supply with 180+ Watt capacity, assuming you want to use the full capacity of the module.

it is a step-down, if it would have 100% efficiency its input current will always be less than or equal to the output current. But as that will not be the case, expect up to 20% more input current. That would be 6A then.
Input voltage should be greater (maybe 2V more, they don't state that) than the max output voltage that you desire. 36V as suggested would be good if you want the full 32V span.
36V * 6A = 216 Watts. A 36V / 200W module should be fine then. You'll find a wide range of cheap switch-mode AC/DC converters that should be suitable. You can use that power supply but your output will be reduced to less than 30W. In theory you could get 5A but only at 6V or less. And less than 30v at 1A. But in practice you need to take into account the efficiency of the converter. That is not specified and can depend on IN/OUT V/A. To protect your printer power supply, you can set overcurrent, overvoltage and overpower protection for this module to use it below its maximums.
If you want the full rating of the module then you need to follow the advice given in previous posts.

I see the Output power range of the Power Supply Module is 00.00-160.0W. You should consider the efficiency of the module.

I was thinking of the other item. Yours looks like it does what it says and also not available to a hobbyist. If someone can buy one let us know how. I bet yours could drive at least three of his, so it might make a good multiple ps.
If you want to show and sell these, start a new post on them and talk about how to buy them.
Your web site looks good and I think people would like to see a Chinese web page that has good English so I hope you will make a new post and introduce your company and products, especially if there is a way to buy a few items at a time.
