What Resistor is this?
« on: June 06, 2021, 01:54:48 pm »
I got a broken Rode  NT USB microphone that produces a lot of noise.
I think i found the culprit, R21 seems broken. I have no clue what value that is and where to find a replacement.

Unfortunately, without the number that was on it, there's nothing you can do.
You're gonna have to find someone who has the same mic, who'd be wlling to open it up and provide you with the number on that particular resistor. Try reaching out to this guy:

Check under the video (click "show more") for his socials/website. If you'd be able to get the resistor's value, it's definitely fixable.

Observations:
1. It has a 3.5 mm stereo monitor output for headphones.

2. Those two circuits appear to be laid out very similarly.

Therefore, R21 is very likely 6.2 kohms like R19.

FYI, several manufacturers have stopped printing values even onto larger SMD resistors. :(

We just got a strip of Vishay 1206 resistors that came with no markings. At least Digi-Key now prints the info onto the tape itself…
