What type of cable is this?
« on: August 06, 2019, 06:46:26 am »
Hi,

I need some help to identify this cable as I'm unable to find a replacement - it has in total 8 conductors, 1 pair is for power as wires are thicker and 1 pair is shielded (for Audio Left, Right and shield is for Audio GND).

You can see in the picture that Yellow and White wires are shielded and rest of them aren't. Any ideas where I can get such a cable? Thanks

Looks custom. At first I thought it may be an odd CCTV cable . But if its for audio /video   a shielded multi core cable would probably work.I'm not an audio expert by any means maybe someone here might have something to add.

If you can't find the exact replacement, getting one where all 8 conductors are the same size and shielded will certainly work, unless you need so much of it that cost is the issue. Having larger-than-required conductors for audio isn't going to hurt anything.

If you only need ONE, buy individual lengths of what you need, bundle them and shrink-wrap the entire length. Two layers if one doesn't seem sturdy enough.
