Title: What's this?
Post by: Skippy on May 27, 2012, 10:47:25 pm
Can anyone identify what this is? Want to buy some, but it would be easier if I knew what they were called....

It's a crimp terminal of some sort- a wire goes in and you crimp it. The other end is a kind of spring loaded fold of metal that clips into a socket and stays put, but you can apply pressure and pull it out.

Any ideas?

Can you post a closeup in-focus pic of both the terminal and the connector it fits into?

Is that from a computer power supply connector?

If that is what they are, you can buy some here:

It looks like the wiper from a standard Molex type of connector. Very common, we need a picture of the plastic connector it came out of to find a suitable replacement

Doing a search for Molex KK pin or connector should give you some close results

Sounds pretty reasonable. It's attached to the neon indicator bulb in a kettle, and is used to attach to the base of the kettle. It hasn't come out of any kind of housing though.  I'm trying to replace the bulb (yeah, I know, really high level electronics).

The main difference between this and the Molex seems to be that it has a hole in the middle of the prong, but I guess something like this Molex could work.
